Nuxeo Introduces Correspondence Management for Nuxeo Case Management Framework

First Application Delivered on Nuxeo CMF Addresses Rigorous Needs of Public Sector and Regulated Industries

BOSTON, July 22, 2010 -- Nuxeo, the Open Source Enterprise Content Management (ECM) company, today announced Nuxeo Correspondence Management, a new application that simplifies the time and resource-intensive management of correspondence. Government agencies and regulated industries are under time-sensitive mandates to respond to public inquiries and must comply with legislation and regulations regarding disclosure, freedom of information and incident reporting. Built with the recently announced Nuxeo Case Management Framework, Nuxeo Correspondence Management automates tracking of large volumes of incoming, outgoing or internal correspondence - regardless of format and nature - helping to streamline intake, route tasks, and reduce the margin of error to meet mandated turnaround times, all while providing rigorous security controls, audit trails and rapid search and retrieval.

Nuxeo Correspondence Management is the first correspondence management application from an open source ECM platform provider. Using Nuxeo Correspondence Management, application builders, integrators or information architects can rapidly customize and deploy a correspondence solution that meets specific needs mandated by their jurisdiction or industry. Companies today often spend millions of dollars managing correspondence only to find that their existing correspondence software is not flexible enough to meet evolving needs to capture new content types, quickly meet new regulations, scale up to manage increased volumes of electronic communication, or serve participants across distributed web-centric environments.

Nuxeo Correspondence Management offers unified inbox management, delegation, routing and tracking features necessary for managing all types of correspondence (incoming, outgoing, and subsequent exchanges). Whether correspondence is received via fax, email, web forms, social media or traditional paper, Nuxeo Correspondence Management allows a consistent approach to the capture, handling and resolution of the inquiry. Nuxeo Correspondence Management has already delivered results for several European public sector agencies that must now comply with new mandates requiring time-stamped proof of receipt and delivery for written and online governmental communication.

"Meeting statutory, regulatory or internal response time-lines is a significant correspondence control challenge for both large budget-conscious organizations, as well as small to medium-sized organizations and start-ups that are run more leanly," said CEO Eric Barroca. "Nuxeo Correspondence Management solves these correspondence headaches, without sacrificing rigorous audit, security, institutional memory preservation or freedom of information requirements.”

Nuxeo also is deeply committed to both open source and open standards - ensuring full compliance with key initiatives such as CMIS (Content Management Interoperability Services), Dublin Core, PDF/A, OpenSocial and OSGi. Strong standards support provides assurance for customers that content is accessible, transferable, and can be preserved for long-term retention needs. As ECM interoperability standards such as CMIS gain broad adoption, applications such as Nuxeo Correspondence Management, which are built with the company's framework, can be easily deployed in environments running new multi-repository applications typical of large and distributed enterprises.

The Nuxeo Case Management Framework is a full-featured, extensible toolkit built with Nuxeo Enterprise Platform. It natively includes document management, security and auditing, collaboration, workflow, reporting, dashboards and unified in-box management, giving application builders a way to quickly and easily create templates for case-centric solutions such as Correspondence Management. By using the solution framework, development time is rapidly reduced, freeing up resources to build intelligent new templates, plug-ins and business logic to meet specific customer needs. Fully assured and supported by the Nuxeo Connect comprehensive subscription offering, Nuxeo's technology builds on the deep content application expertise gathered from repeated customer successes.

"We were able to deliver this new application quickly using our new Nuxeo Case Management Framework, proving to our customers how fast and easy it is to produce new business solution on top of this framework," said Barroca. "Nuxeo customers can easily extend the value of the core Nuxeo Enterprise Platform using our framework and Nuxeo Correspondence Management. For end-user organizations, it means efficiency, rapid return on investment, and the ability to tailor applications for their specific needs. For integrators and application developers, it means quickly delivering solutions or launching new case-centric applications using the Nuxeo framework with the Nuxeo Enterprise Platform as the underlying foundation."
