These browser extensions allow you to drag and drop files from your desktop to a Nuxeo Platform module or Nuxeo Platform-based application for easy upload.

Live Edit

Nuxeo Live Edit makes it very simple to edit office documents on your desktop with a single click in the Nuxeo Platform-based application. It is designed to work with Nuxeo Platform 5.1.4 or above, and integrates with your browser (IE or Firefox) using a "protocol handler".

Nuxeo Live Edit targets:

  • Microsoft Office 2007/2010,
  • OpenOffice.org 3.3,
  • LibreOffice 3.4.4.

For other versions of MS Office, a simple save is done when closing the document.

The Minimal installer is required for either Microsoft Office or Internet Explorer users:

These installers require .Net and the installation of the Microsoft Office Primary Interop Assemblies (PIA) that corresponds to the version of Microsoft Office (already installed on a complete default installation of MS Office):

For users working with Internet Explorer 9 64b and MS Office 32b:

Note that versions of Live Edit inferior to 2.4.0 require both .Net and Visual Studio 2005 tools for Office.
