Apogée
Nuxeo provides highly dynamic applications, with no deployment barriers,
auto-updatable, with reusable components, well integrated with the desktop
and extensible, using web / internet open standards like HTTP, XHTML, XML,
XMPP, XForms, etc.
Nuxeo has already designed and built a couple of ECM desktop applications
based on Eclipse RCP : critical content available off-line, content updated
automatically, application updated automatically, highly-responsive
functions, full integration with on-line portal when needed, etc.
The first Eclipse
RCP-based application was delivered to AFP (Agence France Press news
agency) enabling its journalists to create news within Apogée using an
integrated editor and other building blocks (images, live news feeds,
archive, etc.) provided by CPS Patform within Apogée. The created content
can then be published via CPS Platform using workflow actions available
within Apogée.
The second Eclipse
RCP-based application was delivered to CNCC (French institute of
statutory auditors) enabling every French auditor (18 000 + users) to
access the legal regulations and the best practices databases (hundreds of
thousands of documents) without being on-line (on client site for example).
Users can also add content within Apogée (digital annotations on
interesting content). When connected, Apogée is automatically updated via
CPS Platform.
The next step in implementing Nuxeo's vision of next-generation ECM is to
design and build a framework, Apogée, that will become the cornerstone for
various ECM-oriented desktop applications and it's independent from vendor
or technologies. Since January 2006, Apogée became a proposed open source
project under the Eclipse
Technology Project.
