Rights and permissions
Authentication
Each user has to authenticate with their own login and password to be able to access Nuxeo EP 5. It is possible to use enterprise directory authentication services (such as MS Active Directory, Sun Directory Server, OpenLDAP, etc.). After authentication, each user has access to the workspaces and the sections where they have been assigned a role.
Access management
Each user who is manager on a specific level (sections or workspaces) of the application can define other access rights on that level, and on the sub-levels.
User group management
Nuxeo EP 5 provides by default user group management. This allows Nuxeo EP 5 managers to easily manage group permissions and rights declarations. Each group is managed by a manager who is in charge of its coordination. User group management is a really powerful feature that drastically simplifies the management of an application with many users.
Rights management
Rights management in Nuxeo EP 5 is based on a role system. Each role is a combination of a set of permissions attached to single users or groups.
A role defines the permissions of Nuxeo EP 5 users on each component of the application. By default, the rights management is applied to the workspaces and sections level but it can easily be applied to the document level if needed.
Technical managers of Nuxeo EP 5 are able to define new roles by creating new sets of permissions for specific business uses.
Nuxeo EP 5 offers a very agile rights management system which allows managers to grant or deny permissions on each component.
