How does Nuxeo SP access the database? JDBC / SQLJ / Hibernate / Stored Procedures?

Nuxeo accesses the databases through Hibernate.

What databases does Nuxeo SP support?

Nuxeo EP is certified on following databases:
  • MySQL 5.x
  • PostgreSQL 7.x, 8.x

What are the client requirements for the administration and configuration of Nuxeo Enterprise Platform?

Nuxeo EP fully supports the following web browsers for the administration: IE 5.5+ and Firefox 1.5+ on MSWindows and Linux (only for Firefox).

Are there special network requirements for optimal operation of Nuxeo SP?

The only requirement is high-speed Ethernet (100Mbit or 1Gbit) between the servers clustered to serve the application.
For the communication between the client and the server, a standard IP / HTTP combination is needed.

What is the minimum processing speed and memory required for optimal operation of Nuxeo SP?

On the client: common machines that can run MSOffice and Internet Explorer seamlessly.
For server, we recommend x64 or x86 architectures with 2GB of RAM per CPU.
The product has also been tested and certified on Sun hardware (SunFire V490) and runs perfectly well.

Does Nuxeo SP handle multiple languages? (e.g. English, Japanese, French, Turkish, Polish, Dutch) and if so does it use a known framework?

The solution is fully internationalized and supports multiple languages. It uses standard Java internationalization system (and JSF i18n for the web interface).

How does Nuxeo SP resolve the issue of slow download/response times to deliver content back to the client user?

Nuxeo can use HTTP compression to deliver pages in the fastest way. Moreover all external resources (pictures, CSS, etc.) are locally cached by the browser cache.
For file download, all files are available through a stable HTTP REST URL that can be cached seamlessly by WAFS devices.

How would J2EE applications connect to Nuxeo SP?

Nuxeo EP is fully Java EE compliant. J2EE applications can connect using common interface mechanism such as EJB Remoting, RMI, IIOP.

Does the Nuxeo SP provide database backup and recovery functions?

The system does not provide specific backup and recovery functions. It relies on database backup and recovery features.
Backing up a Nuxeo EP instance only require a database snapshot. Recovery only requires a database restoration.
Hot-backups are supported if the database server offers it since Nuxeo EP is fully transactional at the storage level..

Does Nuxeo SP supports rule based and manual (user defined) routing of documents?

Does Nuxeo SP supports rule based and manual (user defined) routing of documents.
A user/administrator (can be restricted) can initiate a routing process and define the chain of user to which the document will be routed to (in parallel or in sequence).
Automatic routing can also be defined using workflow processes or manual rules (based on a rule engine).

What are the minimum requirements in order for Nuxeo SP to be 100% compatible with the desktop environment?

Supported Microsoft Windows and Office software versions on the client side:
