The Workflow Service, based on JBoss jBPM, provide processes and activity management directly in the ECM platform. It enables organizations to apply complex and dynamic processes directly on the content.
From a technical point of view the Workflow Service makes it easy for a process to act on the content repository (e.g. access rights change, locking, metadata update on a document) so that, for example, when a task is assigned to someone, the workflow service automatically grants them rights to read the document.
