Nuxeo and Its Semantic Technology Revs Up
There are semantic engines with Web-based APIs, but here’s one with an open source license for offline use or within a private infrastructure. We found the article “Nuxeo Present FISE, a RESTful Semantic Engine” on H-online.com, give an insight into the Furtwangen IKS Semantic Engine (FISE) with a RESTful interface.

September 8, 2010 – fise (Furtwangen IKS Semantic Engine) is an open source RESTful semantic engine to which NUXEO has made contributions. According to the contributors, the goal of fise includes bringing new semantic features to CMS.

L'Europe entend améliorer la recherche sémantique des CMS
En partie financé par la Commission Européenne, le projet IKS (pour Interactive Knowledge Stack) veut fournir une plate-forme Open Source pour améliorer la recherche au sein des CMS. Fruit de ce projet, le moteur de recherche sémantique Open Source Fise est désormais disponible en version alpha. Écrit en Java, Fise dispose d'une interface Rest qui lui permet d'être utilisé au sein de tous les CMS.

L'Europe se dote de son moteur sémantique : Fise
Le projet européen IKS vient de livrer la version alpha de son moteur de recherche sémantique. Il vise à équiper 40 CMS du marché. Le projet européen IKS (Interactive Knowledge Stack) vient de lancer sa phase initiale de test de Fise. Ce projet, qui signifie Furtwangen IKS Semantic Engine, a pour objectif de développer et de mettre au point un moteur de recherche sémantique open source.

Nuxeo present FISE, a RESTful semantic engine
Open source enterprise content management experts Nuxeo have announced that, as part of the IKS European project, they are working with partners in the project to develop an open source semantic engine with a RESTful interface, dubbed fise. Fise, which stands for Furtwangen IKS Semantic Engine, was initially created in March at the IKS Semantic Engine Hackathon and now Nuxeo have made a demonstration system available for users to get a feel for what a semantic engine can achieve.

The goal of fise is to "help bring new and trendy semantic features to CMS by giving developers a stack of reusable HTTP semantic services to build upon." fise is part of a larger effort, IKS(Interactive Knowledge Stack) as a means of enhancing CMS offerings with Semantic Web capabilities.

Nuxeo previews new application marketplace and admin console
Last week in a blog post by CEO Eric Barroca, Nuxeo announced they were previewing two new features: An applications marketplace for Nuxeo plug-ins and applications that run on the Nuxeo platform along with a new administrative console for installing and managing upgrades. Both are expected to be ready in time for the release of Nuxeo 5.4 at the end of September.

Nuxeo takes its DAM to the cloud
Nuxeo launched the newest version of its DAM last week. Version 1.1 includes a new cloud version, giving customers the option of hosting the solution themselves or letting Nuxeo do it. Trois projets logiciels libres du pôle Systematic décrochent un financement public
Trois projets subventionnés, Compatible One, un "Cloudware” libre, Easy SOA, une plateforme d’intégration SOA libre, et Squash, pour des tests fonctionnels, représentent un investissement total de 17,5 millions d'euros. Nuxeo, qui participe à deux d'entre eux, a par ailleurs annoncé en juin une nouvelle levée de fonds de 2,7 millions.

Nuxeo announces correspondence management app
Nuxeo, which just announced its Case Management Framework a month ago, is announcing on July 22 its Nuxeo Correspondence Management application, which is based on that software. The product will be available from the company as a free, open-source download--although, the company will be selling support for the product.
