Nuxeo, software vendor of the Nuxeo open source ECM platform and its associated suite, Nuxeo Galaxy, is now seeking a talented and highly motivated Pre-Sales Engineer. This is an exciting opportunity to join the Sales team within a rapidly expanding company at a key stage in its development. Based in the Boston or in the Paris office, this position will report directly to the Sales Manager.

As a Presales Engineer, you will be an active part of closing the business by providing pre-sales technical and functional support to prospective clients and partners. You will assist in the evaluation of the product to ensure the process proceeds smoothly and with minimal supervision.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Provide presales support to Customers and Account Managers
• Provide and present technical product demonstrations including advanced product features and benefits
• Support the sales team on how to offer and present Nuxeo to their customers
• Assist the sales team in the qualification of sales opportunities
• Become an expert in Nuxeo’s ECM Platforms and solutions
• Provide assistance in the distribution of new product information, application workshops and solution strategies for the Nuxeo sales team
• Work with the prospect to help plan, scope, develop and deploy Nuxeo

Nuxeo is looking for a successful professional with proven pre-sales experience in enterprise application software.

Additional characteristics include:

• Background in pre-sales, technical sales, support, or consulting
• Analytical thinker with the ability to translate complex business needs into feasible, valuable solutions
• Knowledge of sales methodologies, processes and disciplines
• Effective communicator with excellent presentation skills
• Demonstrated history of building effective relationships with a strong customer service focus
• Strong organizational skills with a proven track record of consistently meeting project deadlines
• Deep understanding of the enterprise landscape and business challenges around integrated collaboration services
• Team player on an international team supporting a large region and willing to travel as necessary
• Technical qualifications centered around one of those areas: ECM, web applications and Development Technologies (Java, XML, etc...)
• BA/BS degree, in a technical discipline – or equivalent experience

As a member of the marketing team, you will be engaged in bringing products from conceptualization to market, and evolving existing product lines.

Longer-term, this marketing specialist will help build the Nuxeo product line through market research, innovative testing, and new product development.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Think with the mind of the business users at all times
• Refine the marketing strategies needed to generate greater market adoption
• Actively participate in Nuxeo's community to develop credibility and increase participation
• Join and participate in Open Source communities to develop credibility for Nuxeo's messages
• Deliver great positioning statements with the strength to unite internal development, product management marketing & sales on a common goal
• Develop and demonstrate to our customers compelling uses for Nuxeo products, both separately and together. Engage each of the key constituents within the Technical Teams our product portfolio supports
• Feed back customer, partner and competitive requirements to Development Teams (through Product Owners) for incorporation into future product releases
• Craft all of the product pages and related materials (Screencasts..) company web site
• Arm the pre-sales team with concise knowledge (competitive analysis, market landscape, product positioning) to assist them in delivering rapid and repeatable sales
• Unite the internal organization and relevant external audience around effective product launches

• Deep understanding of the ECM landscape
• Motivated, no-bullshit self-starter, enthusiastic, creative, pragmatic
• 5+ years Product Marketing / Product Management / development or sales engineering experience in a high tech, software company
• BS/BA degree, CS desired or equivalent work experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent prioritization skills to individually detect and deliver the most important things first

• Understanding of Agile development methods (notably Scrum)
• Working knowledge of the enterprise-computing environment
• Prior technical background, ability to talk to both developer and business user level audience

• 4/5 years degree or appropriate industry experience.
• Solid Java development experience and talent. Any experience using Open Source frameworks,or different areas of Java EE, are beneficial.
• An understanding of the following broad technologies: Application Server (JBoss, Glassfish), GWT, Freemarker, JSF, Seam
• Experience with handling large volumes of electronic communication (blogs, wikis, email, IM).

• We use an XP-style development process hence any agile experience (including test driven development, pair programming, refactoring and continuous integration) is a plus.
• Experience writing unit tests and functional tests.
• Broad knowledge of software industry and technology.
• Understanding of defect tracking, project management or wikis.
• Public participation in an open source project is encouraged.
