Gartner recently published their 2018 Market Guide for Digital Asset Management as a resource to help companies define key requirements in their Digital Asset Management (DAM) programs and to assist them as they navigate this complex and emerging enterprise landscape.
We’re excited that Nuxeo was one of only 20 offerings included in the report.
The Fast-Growing Digital Asset Management Market
Inclusion in the Gartner Market Guide further reinforces our position as an emerging player in the growing DAM market — and make no mistake, the DAM market is certainly growing.
Today’s marketing leaders are increasingly focused on managing marketing assets and scaling content operations, and these priorities are driving sizable investment in DAM platforms.
In a Gartner survey of marketing decision-makers conducted at the end of 2017, respondents cited content creation and content management as their top two digital priorities for 2018. In the survey, marketing leaders reported allocating 7.4% of their marketing budget to content creation in 2017. Moreover, between 2016 and 2017, according to the Market Guide, Gartner saw “a threefold increase in the number of inquiries about digital asset management from marketing leaders. The first quarter of 2018 showed continued momentum, with close to two times more inquiries in Q1-2018 than in Q1-2017.”
Findings from the 2018 Market Guide for DAM
Gartner highlighted several needs and drivers impacting the DAM segment in their 2018 Market Guide for Digital Asset Management, including:
- The need for improved management of content assets grows ever more pressing, thanks to increasingly visual marketing experiences, experimentation with new formats, and the pursuit of real-time personalization across channels at scale.
- DAM solutions must support a wide array of uses, implementation options, and scales of deployment, requiring marketers to clearly define the scenarios they want DAM platforms to support.
- As DAM needs become pervasive across marketing, vendors pursue integrations, as well as build their own native functionality. This leads to more capability convergence, but also more overlap and complexity. The resulting landscape is challenging for marketers to maneuver.
We believe we’re a part of the Market Guide because our platform has a high degree of flexibility when it comes to asset storage and can be hosted in many environments, such as cloud storage services, network servers and enterprise file-sharing services. This flexibility allows Nuxeo to act as a meta layer across all content repositories, enabling search and discovery without the need for batch asset ingestion.
Keep informed about the DAM market by reading the Gartner 2018 Market Guide for Digital Asset Management.
We’re proud of this recognition, and we believe it reinforces what we’re seeing in the marketplace: companies are looking for DAM solutions that adapt to the way they work, not the other way around. We plan to continue expanding our footprint in the digital asset management market, because enterprises need modern, flexible, and highly scalable solutions that improve cloud-based collaboration and innovation while minimizing wasted effort.
