Nuxeo DM 5.4.1 released featuring Application Wizardry
The Nuxeo R&D team has just given us a new version of Nuxeo Document Management (DM) / Nuxeo Enterprise Platform (EP). This latest minor release offers a couple of new features like a 5-step installation wizard, launcher with an embedded shell written in Java, hot reload using Studio’s Admin Center and a host of improvements. Full details can be found in our announcement and further tech specs in Release Notes.
New BIRT Integration Marketplace Package
For users who are looking to mine data stored in their Nuxeo repository, the Nuxeo - BIRT Integration package offers integrated reporting capabilities on top of Nuxeo content management applications, enabling the design, rendering, and access of reports and analytics, through Eclipse BIRT. Users are now able to access BIRT reporting capabilities directly from the Nuxeo platform, manage security controls, create reports based on imported report models, and run calculations and queries from defined parameters providing automated, actionable metrics for content-centric solutions. Get started and get reporting! Download the package from the Nuxeo Marketplace and take a peek at our documentation for more details.
Actuate and Nuxeo Partner up!
We’re happy to announce that our technology alliance with Actuate, the "people behind BIRT", is now official! Actuate provides a large range of Business Intelligence and information applications that incorporate rich data visualizations, interactivity, dashboards, analytics, and deployment options to web and mobile BIRT applications designed to help organizations drive revenue through higher customer satisfaction and improved operational performance. [geek out] …developers at play
Nuxeo Project Accepted into OW2
As of last week the Nuxeo Enterprise Platform has been been accepted as a OW2 project. This paves the way to additional visibility for our open source activities (and of course, is a complement, not a substitute, to our participation in the Eclipse Foundation, which is where the future core of Nuxeo EP will be developed), and technical and business partnership opportunities with the consortium members (which include several companies which we've already been working with, such as Bonitasoft, Talend, OpenWide, XWiki, etc.). The Nuxeo project on OW2 is currently "incubating", but should soon move to the "mature" category and benefit from SQuAT QA infrastructure provided by OW2. We will also be part of the "OSCi" initiative thanks to our participation in the Compatible One project.
News from our Eclipse Activities
The Eclipse Enterprise Content Repository Project Proposal (ECR Project Proposal) is progressing. The 1st contribution of ECR will be submitted in the next few days, but the code is already available for the curious: ECR is building and running. The code is available on https://github.com/nuxeo/org.eclipse.ecr and a p2 repository with ECR bundles and all third party libs used by ECR is available http://osgi.nuxeo.org/p2/ecr/current/repository/.
Intalio, a new party already very active in the Eclipse Foundation also declared its interest in ECR and joined the project. They also made the first PULL request on the ECR Git repository!
Last month we were also able to take part in the Eclipse Foundation’s annual conference by presenting three topics near and dear to our hearts:
- Florent Guillaume’s talk on the Eclipse Enterprise Content Repository Project: Overview of Nuxeo Core, a state of the art Content Repository Contribution. Slides can be downloaded directly from Slideshare.
- Bogdan Stefanescu’s talk on scalable platforms: Creating Large Scale Software Platforms with OSGi and an Extension Point Model. Slides can be downloaded directly from Slideshare.
- Bogdan Stefanescu and Roland Benedetti’s talk on the making of Nuxeo Studio: Leveraging OSGi-based Architecture, GWT, and Eclipse to build a large ajax-based applications on top of the Nuxeo Enterprise Platform. Slides can be downloaded directly from Slideshare.

<a href="/blog/meet-the-team-julie-allouch"?utm_source=enews&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=enews20110412">Every month we’ll introduce you to one of our team members here at Nuxeo. We’re a friendly bunch who love staying in-tune with our customers and partners, so we hope you enjoy taking a moment to see what makes us tick.
Meet Julie Allouch, in early 2011 she quietly infiltrated American society and has been winning over customers and partners for Nuxeo ever since. Now in charge of sales support and customer satisfaction in the Americas, she’s got a big role and a lot of trail to blaze. With an ear tuned to customer needs, she takes some time to share her experiences in the field and the resources designed to help new customers learn how Nuxeo solutions can work for them.
