As a company, we’re committed to supporting the latest tools and technologies in all areas of our platform. In fact, our platform has been specifically architected for this purpose!

Nuxeo WebUI

It’s this principle that has led us to make the decision that Nuxeo WebUI will depend on modern browsers going forward. We believe this will enable us to create better interfaces, ensure we can deliver the best user experience, and help us deliver on our vision to support standards for Web Components.

As such, we’ve decided that it was time to end our support for IE11 from LTS 2017, and instead focus our efforts on improving the Nuxeo experience on other evergreen browsers.

“But why are you ending IE11 Support?”

After releasing Nuxeo LTS 2017, we spent an inordinate amount of time fixing bugs and improving IE11 performance. We felt that IE11 wasn’t meeting our standards because of its slow interface and UI issues, which wasn’t something we could fix on our end.

We want to ensure our customers have the best Nuxeo experience, and ultimately this was what led us to the decision to end our support for IE11.

Don’t Worry, We’ve Got your Back!

We understand that some customers will still need to keep IE11 in play for a while. For this reason, we encourage those customers to continue using the JSF UI, which is compatible with IE11. We’ll provide another update about the JSF support timeline soon.

The good news is that this move will enable us to channel more of our efforts on improving WebUI performance on other browsers, as well as on other core aspects in our roadmap. It will also remove our customers’ risk in deploying a sub-par solution in production. We’re committed to delivering the highest-quality experience to our customers, and that’s what this decision is all about.
