That’s why we’re proud that several Nuxeo employees had the opportunity to attend the Runway of Dreams™ Foundation (RODF) Gala on September 5 in New York City, where one of our customers (and friends), Mike Shaffer, was honored with the Commitment to Inclusion Award.
Mike serves as EVP, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer for PVH Corp.
This is an especially notable honor given RODF’s prominent role as a non-profit organization working towards a future of inclusion, acceptance, and opportunity in the fashion industry for people with disabilities. Every year, RODF kicks off New York Fashion Week with their annual Fashion Revolution Event (#RethinkTheRunway), a one-of-a-kind adaptive fashion show and gala.
The event is a great time for everyone involved – and it supports a great cause.
The gala featured more than 40 models of all abilities, and featured runway modeling designed to broaden the reach of adaptive clothing in the mainstream industry while celebrating people with disabilities.
Mike was honored for his dedication to fostering inclusivity within PVH, which is one of the most admired fashion and lifestyle companies in the world. Mike received particular praise for his integral role driving the Tommy Hilfiger Adaptive line, which highlights PVH’s desire to meet consumers’ needs and bring branded, fashionable clothing to an underserved population.
In accepting the award, Mike highlighted the growing power of inclusion across the fashion industry.
Throughout my career, focusing on inclusion has become an increasingly important part of my job – and a part that I truly enjoy. As we look to the future, the need for the entire fashion industry to believe in inclusivity and act on it – from the way we build culture inside our companies to how we develop business strategies that will impact the industry and the world - is a key priority.
