New York, Paris - September 25, 2013 – Nuxeo, the provider of a content services platform, announces the availability of Nuxeo Platform 5.7.3, a new Fast Track version under the release program launched earlier in the year. This developer-focused version includes enhancements to the REST API, to the UI Framework, and new workflow features.

The REST API

Nuxeo has been building and expanding the REST APIs in the Nuxeo Platform to improve the remote access to the Nuxeo content repository. The Nuxeo REST API lets you integrate with Nuxeo applications using simple HTTP methods, in the JSON format, making this an ideal API for developing web applications and integrations with the Nuxeo Platform. The REST API uses the standard HTTP request methods GET, POST, PUT, and DELETE, available in every language and platform, to make requests and retrieve information from the Nuxeo repository.

Version 5.7.2 introduced REST API access to Document resources. Nuxeo Platform 5.7.3 features REST APIs for additional resources: Users, Groups, Directories, and Automation (used to call operations). There are also new adapters to give more granularity and control of the API calls. Resource endpoints and adapters can also be contributed, so that the API is easily extensible.

Other Highlights

Although this new version is not a major release, it offers an array of new features, including:

  • Workflow enhancements: a new multi-task node, which automatically creates a task per assignee; the possibility to assign a task to someone else while the workflow is running; and a better way to visualize the workflow graph.
  • Integration of Select2 widgets to replace the JSF selection/suggestion widgets.
  • Support of MVEL expressions in the XML mapping configuration of the scan importer.
  • Redesigned error page with informative links to resources.
